Our programme is designed for children between the ages of 5 to 13 years old. Our Before & After School Care runs Monday to Friday during school terms. We also have specially designed programmes for the School Holiday periods.


Our aim is to provide a balance between homework, sports, arts & crafts and free time. All in a safe and supervised environment.

Our staff is qualified and they upskill every year by attending training and courses. There is always a First Aid Qualified member on site.

OSCAR Approved

We are an OCSAR approved programme. This means that parents who are eligible will be able to get Work & Income subsidies.

MSD Approved

We are subject to regular site inspections by MSD assessors, in order to qualify for the OSCAR approval.

WINZ Subsidies

Subsidies are available to eligible families. Please visit the WINZ website or talk to us for more details.

Early Morning

We open as early as 7:00am. For parents who have to go work early.

Our programme is working closely together with Konini School. Staff members have been working with Live N Learn for many years.

Enrolments are required for all children attending the Live 'n Learn programme. There are two types of enrolments.

Recurring - This is when children are enrolled for set days each week.
Casual - This is when children are enrolled in as or when required.

Live 'n Learn needs to be advised of casual enrolments no later than 12pm on the day for afternoon sessions and 5pm the day before for morning sessions, by contacting us via the phone number provided or the email address listed.

We operate a paperless enrolment system. Here is a simple way to enrol and make a booking online.

Register online with your email address
Select the required activity and session, confirm your online booking and complete full enrolment details online.
Once booking has been made successfully you will receive an email confirmation.

Cancellation Policy

Please note 7 working days notice must be provided, in writing if a child is to be withdrawn from the programme or there is a change required to the days of care, otherwise a full fee is payable based on the previous booking.
No Refunds are given for absences and all public holidays are charged at the applicable rate for bookings normally required that day.

Work and Income OSCAR Subsidies

Our programme is OSCAR approved by the Ministry of Social Development and therefore parents may be able to apply for Work and Income OSCAR subsidies towards the cost of their childcare.
Forms and further information is available from the onsite manager.
Please note: It takes up to three weeks at least for approval, these must be approved prior to your child's school-care commencement.

Healthy Food

Before School Care
Breakfast, cereal and toast will be provided to children as requested by parents/guardians. (see Fee Structure for more details)

After School Care
Afternoon tea included. We insist on serving healthy after school snacks such as fresh fruit! A late snack will be provided for children staying after 5pm.

*Please advise if your child has any specific food allergies or dietary requirements.

We are sunsmart

We have a no hat = no outdoor play policy.
SPF 30+ Broad Spectrum sunscreen will be made available to all children and staff, but if your child requires special sunscreen please provide this and speak with staff.

My name is René, and for the past 18 years I have been developing and providing activity programmes for young children and international students. Being a father myself, I understand how to interact with children and how important it is to feel that they are safe and well looked after.
On the weekends you can often find me somewhere in the Waitakeres, enjoying our beautiful backyard. I also like sports and I am passionate about soccer.

Holiday Programmes

Our Holiday programmes are always a great experience. We offer a variety of play, sports, games, arts & crafts and more. Once a week we go on a field trip. So there is something exciting for everyone. pricing dependent on activities. The programme will be advertised 3 weeks prior to the programme commencing.

Who is Live N Learn for?

We cater for children enrolled at Konini Primary School for before and after school care.
During the school holiday programme, we welcome all children ages 5 to 13 years. Anyone can join, also if you are enrolled elsewhere.

Our service aims to be inclusive of all children regardless of their abilities. Each case will be considered individually and every effort will be made to include the child within the limits of the programme's resources.

What are Live N Learns safety policies?

At least one Live N Learn staff member onsite will have a current first aid qualification. Police Vetting Employees will undergo police vetting before employment with Live N Learn. Compliance standards preclude the employment of any person in a paid or voluntary capacity, including those in management positions, who has a conviction for sexual crimes or for any offence involving the harm or exploitation of children.

Code of Behaviour for Workers and Prevention of Child Abuse The Live N Learn programme is committed to the prevention of child abuse and to the protection of children. All Live N Learn employees adhere to our code of Behaviour for Workers and Prevention of Child Abuse.

What is a typical Before School Care morning like?

7.00am onwards - Children arrive and are signed in by parents. Breakfast is available for those who have not eaten at home. Children are supervised in the various activities available, both indoor and outdoor.

8.30am - Children are dismissed to class. Young children are taken to class.

What is a typical After School Care afternoon like?

Young children are collected from their class. Roll call and afternoon tea. 30 mins of homework, 30 mins outside play (weather permitting). Organised activities. Free play (indoor/outdoor) or continuation of organised activities. Late snack provided.

At the Konini Primary School location, we see our programme as an extension of the school. Building on the children's learning through our organised activities and play, we follow the school???s five basic school rules of Respect, Safety, Learning, Communication and Fun. We have worked closely with the school to ensure we are aligned with what is happening in the school and support your children in a safe and supportive environment.
